looking for

We approached you because you are WCA members, as we are, so PartnerPay protects both sides from the first shipment, and because you run your own NVOCC division rather than passing ocean cargo to somebody else. Florida is a gateway we have no answer for today.

Why we are writing to you

The United States is our largest export lane.

More cargo leaves the UAE for the United States than for any other country on our books. And the bigger half of this lane starts at your end — 116 of the 196 TEU, and 78 of the 82 tonnes of air, move from the United States into the Gulf.

Until now this cargo has moved through whichever agent the customer or the shipping line nominated. We are building our own partner network in the United States instead. That is the whole reason for this conversation.

Air adds a further 82 tonnes on the same lane, and 78 of those 82 move from the United States into the Gulf. Our whole Gulf book runs to roughly 3,900 TEU and 765 tonnes of air freight.

Importing into Saudi Arabia is not simple. The paperwork is strict and it is where most forwarders lose time. Most send the cargo to the Gulf and hope somebody handles it. We have our own staff at the other end, in all three cities.

What we are asking for

Four things, and none of them urgent

01

Your strongest gateways

Where your import volume actually lands, and where you would rather we did not send you cargo.

02

Import charges

One 40' container at your main gateway, port to port and delivered, so we can compare like for like.

03

Clearance and inland

Whether you handle customs clearance and delivery yourselves, or pass them on.

04

Who answers rate requests

A name, and how quickly. That matters to us more than the number itself.

We would rather send you a real live enquiry than a forecast. The first shipment will tell both of us more than any presentation.

Next step

We hope for a long relationship with Seaboard Solutions.
